My Skin
Hello World! It's Kodi here and I thought it would be a good idea to tell you all a little bit about my skin and the problems that I am trying to fix with it. I will probably be putting up some product reviews in my quest to healthy glowing skin, and it may be nice to have a reference post to see what kind of skin I have. I have been struggling with quite a few different issues with my skin over the years and if I can find a solution, maybe it will help someone out there who is struggling through the same thing I am.
So like any other teenager, I went through some bad acne in middle school and high school which calmed down quite a lot once I moved to college. Naturally there were a few hyper-pigmentation marks and acne scars, but it was nothing that I was to worried about. As a kid, I learned that I had a pretty severe metal allergy which prevented me from wearing jewelry. Little did I know that the humidity in the air along with the mineralized water in the showers at college would make this allergy a nightmare. Originally it started with just really bad rashes all over my body after showering. And then, the more and more time that I spent around metal the worst it seemed to get. The rashes went from being itchy red bumps to being breakouts. And after talking to my dermatologists I learned that the reason that none of the acne was going away was because I couldn't treat it like normal acne. Technically, it was still a rash caused by the metal, and would always leave really bad hyper-pigmentation and nasty scars.
In the last year I have tried almost everything imaginable to get rid of the gross skin left behind by all of these rashes. I've tried tons of different beauty products (some which helped but most did not), I've been on antibiotics, I've tried tea to improve your skin and I am slowly losing hope.
But, I have decided to do one more experiment to see if I can solve my problem myself. Starting today, for the next month I am going to try and remedy my skin through diet. I will be eating only foods that are full of nutrients for the skin. My grocery list includes: salmon, avocado, raw nuts, dark berries, and veggies. At the end of the month, I will check back in and let you know what improvements I see.
So here's to discipline and a healthy diet! See you all on the other side!
