Love is Infectious
Hello world, it's Kodi here and I just wanted to share a quick realization I had a few days ago about love. And this may just be because I am an incredibly empathetic and sensitive person so I am affected by others' emotions easily, but I believe this applies to the whole world. Love is infectious.
I try to live my life with as open a heart and mind as possible which allows for a much more positive life-view. A few months ago I began nannying for a young family with a 1 year old. At first, I was thinking rather negatively about the job seeing as it would be quite exhausting spending 5 hours a day with a 1 year old. For those of you who don't have kids or haven't babysat before, 1 year olds take up literally every moment of your time, it's difficult for you to eat or use the restroom let alone take a breather for a few minutes. So, I went into this job with the mindset of saving up money for moving to England. But the more and more I spent time with them the more joy it brought me to be around such a happy, loving family.
Even though I wasn't a part of the family, it made me beyond happy that this kid was being raised in such a loving positive household. Both of the parents are pursuing jobs that they are passionate about and are doing what they love, which is incredibly inspiring to me. Their house is full of beautiful photos of candid moments in their lives where all three of them are just glowing with joy. The parents are total suckers for when their child wants something, but I have never seen him throw a fit over a material item, it is always for one last hug or kiss from his parents. My heart literally melt anytime I see them together as a family, their love is truly infectious.
There are some people that I know that would sit there annoyed that these family interactions were taking up their time or were preventing them from doing something more important, but I sincerely could not be more grateful to be a part of those moments. If you open your heart to the love and positivity that is floating around in this world, you may be surprised by how much your heart can grow. Kind of like the Grinch.
