Positive Sphere of People

Hello world, it's Kodi here and today I wanted to share with you my efforts in trying to achieve a personal goal that I set when I got my Passion Planner . A few months later, when I started this blog it also became #3 on my ten year goal list . As I mentioned in my last post, I am a very empathetic and emotional person, and because of that I am very easily affected by the emotions of those around me. So, to create a happy and healthy environment to live in I created the goal of living in a positive sphere of people. By the time I am 30 I hope to have fixed all negative relationships in my life, or at least have a solid way of staying grounded and happy when with these people. On top of this being a personal goal for me, I believe that living a life with positive and inspiring people around you can really improve your happiness on a day to day basis. Ever since I was a kid I've had issues with negative relationships from bullying in school, to friends who are pessimists, to ...

Love is Infectious

Hello world, it's Kodi here and I just wanted to share a quick realization I had a few days ago about love. And this may just be because I am an incredibly empathetic and sensitive person so I am affected by others' emotions easily, but I believe this applies to the whole world. Love is infectious. I try to live my life with as open a heart and mind as possible which allows for a much more positive life-view. A few months ago I began nannying for a young family with a 1 year old. At first, I was thinking rather negatively about the job seeing as it would be quite exhausting spending 5 hours a day with a 1 year old. For those of you who don't have kids or haven't babysat before, 1 year olds take up literally every moment of your time, it's difficult for you to eat or use the restroom let alone take a breather for a few minutes. So, I went into this job with the mindset of saving up money for moving to England. But the more and more I spent time with them the more j...

Reach Out

Image
Hello World! It's Kodi here to tell you that you should reach out to anyone and everyone that inspires you because you never know what could come of it.  During my most recent trip to London a very good friend and I were fortunate enough to get the last two tickets to see Ralph Fiennes in Man + Superman at the National Theatre. Being two enormous theater dorks we were absolutely thrilled to spend three hours of our evening watching outstanding actors perform Shaw. Naturally, we were blown away by the talent of the stars featured in the show, but it was Tim McMullan who really took my breath away. Even after I got home from my trip, I couldn't get his performance out of my head, so I decided to tell him. Naturally I never imagined that he would ever receive my letter let alone reply. Within a month of sending my letter thanking him for being such an inspiration and asking what his advice would be to an aspiring actor, I received a two page, handwritten, heartfelt reply. ...

My Skin

Hello World! It's Kodi here and I thought it would be a good idea to tell you all a little bit about my skin and the problems that I am trying to fix with it. I will probably be putting up some product reviews in my quest to healthy glowing skin, and it may be nice to have a reference post to see what kind of skin I have. I have been struggling with quite a few different issues with my skin over the years and if I can find a solution, maybe it will help someone out there who is struggling through the same thing I am. So like any other teenager, I went through some bad acne in middle school and high school which calmed down quite a lot once I moved to college. Naturally there were a few hyper-pigmentation marks and acne scars, but it was nothing that I was to worried about.  As a kid, I learned that I had a pretty severe metal allergy which prevented me from wearing jewelry. Little did I know that the humidity in the air along with the mineralized water in the showers at college w...
