New Beginnings
Hello World! It's Kodi here and if you've been following me on Twitter or Instagram
then you will know that I have been out of the country for a week to
learn about all of the exciting new changes coming in the next few years
of my life.
For those of you that are not as social media inclined, this is the update on the exciting and wonderful things happening at this moment in my life. If you have read my Where I'm At post then you will know that I have spent this year applying to and auditioning for drama schools in the U.K. And a few weeks ago I was in New York with my dad on my way to do my last few first round auditions in London and something very unexpected happened.
I had been emailing with a woman in the admissions department of a school that I had auditioned for in January. Originally we were told that we would know the outcome of our audition within two weeks of the audition. At this point it had been about two months and I had heard nothing. So one morning I received an email from her saying that she was happy to announce that an offer was being made to me. I wasn't totally sure what this meant so I emailed her back asking to clarify if I had been offered a spot or a callback. Due to the time difference, I didn't hear back from her so my dad and I decided not to get excited about anything and just went on with our day.
Before going to dinner we popped back to the hotel and I checked my email just in case. In my inbox was sitting an email from the portal where my applications are submitted saying that an offer was being made to me to begin training this September at GSA. My heart literally stopped. This was the school where I had the most positive audition experience and had just almost given up hope on being accepted.
In that moment my entire world changed. I took a huge risk last year in deciding to take time off from my university to pursue my dreams. And now I know that all it takes to achieve the impossible is hard work, perseverance, and belief in oneself. So with a heart full of joy and a mind full of determination, I am ready to embark on the next chapter of this ten year adventure. Here is to new beginnings!
