Challenge to Myself
Hello world, it's Kodi here. This is something that I have decided to put on here mainly to hold me to it.
I've been really energized recently by writing and I always think it's important to follow those impulses because you never know where the universe is leading you. I've also spent a lot of my social media time reading other blogs and learning about mindfulness, travel, spirituality, beauty, health along with other topics. I've noticed through reading them what I personally enjoy in a blog post. And even though this is an online journal of sorts to document my goal achieving throughout this decade of my life--I still think I should aspire to be something great.
In life I believe that it is beyond important to put 110% into everything that you do. Not only will it help improve the quality of the work you are doing, but it then becomes part of who you are. To be the person who goes the extra mile--it becomes ingrained in you and you begin operating at a higher vibration.
So that was a little tangent from the main focus of this post which is to challenge myself to write more posts in styles that I personally have found engaging throughout my blog-surfing.
Here are the top five things that I enjoy reading in a blog post:
1. Lists. Who doesn't love a good list? We all know I do thanks to Planning Away Your Fears. I mean, this post is turning into a list so I guess I'm slowly getting there.
2. Photography. There is something so special in a photo where we truly get to experience (visually at least) what someone halfway around the world is seeing. I have recently gotten a camera for self taping and short film filming purposes but playing around with taking photos of the world is really eye-opening. Personally I have found that it makes me see more of the world around me--which I think is a HUGE plus.
3. Time-Lapsed Videos. Sometimes I find these funny, sometimes informative, and sometimes really beautiful. But being an actor I am really fascinated by people, and I love watching someone doing something mundane over 20 minutes or so that they have time-lapsed into a 5 minute video. Who knows if I'll actually get comfortable enough to put a video on here, but I am challenging myself to find something beautiful or interesting to time-lapse.
4. Positive Experiences Being Shared. I really love reading about when someone has had a life changing experience through reading a book, doing a new meditation, trying a new food, seeing a new city, or using a new product and then does everything they can to pass it forward so others can share in the incredible experience.
5. Something Surprising and Creative. I absolutely love stumbling upon a blog post where someone has shared something that they have created, a poem, a song, a drawing or something else entirely. I think sharing creativity inspires creativity--and lets be hones we need more creativity in the world.
