Adventure Update: 3 Years In
Hello world, it's Kodi here finally, after a far too long hiatus from writing. So here I am about a week away from turning 23 which means I am now almost three years into this unbelievably awesome ten year adventure. And being completely honest--I'm feeling incredible. I was right to think that this decade would be full of massive changes and I am so grateful for each and every one of them.
This morning I looked back on my original Ten Year Goals that I set for myself when I turned 20 and I'm feeling pretty great about what I have achieved in the first three years.
#2 Having a happy, zen, cozy home in a town or city that invigorates me. Most likely near the ocean.
-Now I'm counting this one as achieved for my current age. Since I'm a student who has no idea where she'll be living next year the house I currently am in I am renting, but I can proudly say that I have made it a very happy, cozy, zen, relaxed, safe space where I can recharge, sleep, work, and have fun.
#3 Keeping only positive and joyful relationships in my life. Friends that push and empower me to be the best version of myself.
-So one of the biggest shifts I have found in myself over the past three years is that I am far stronger and more decisive on what I need to be happy. In previous years I would let myself hang on to toxic relationships because I was worried about hurting someone, but I can very confidently say now that every single one of my friends is in my life because every fiber of my being wants them to be there.
#5 Being the happiest, healthiest, most balanced version of myself.
-So a few months ago I was introduced to a company called Isagenix and I thought it sounded like the sort of thing that may make a huge difference in the health side of my life. About a week into using their system, all stomach pain and discomfort completely disappeared, I now live every day without being nervous about if my next meal may leave me in pain. So healthy: check. Meditation has been the other huge part of my life recently. I use the Insight Timer Meditation app and try to meditate for 15-30 minutes a day. And WOW has that made a huge difference in my daily life. So happiest: check. Most balanced: check.
#7 Trained at an acting conservatory. Hopefully abroad somewhere.
-And here I am now, in my final year of the Guildford School of Acting just outside of London and I have never felt more fulfilled in my life. I have grown so much as an actor and a person and received training better than I ever could have imagined.
The biggest change in myself from age 20 to (almost) age 23 has been living my life knowing that everything happens for a reason. The second that I took that on as my mentality towards life everything began to change. It's my version of La Vie en Rose I suppose.
