Where I'm At
Hello Internet! It's Kodi here and today I thought I would write a post about my starting point for the ten-year adventure.
Technically speaking, where I'm at right now is on my couch, with my dog, watching a DVD of Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty. But that's not the point of this post. The point of this post is to document my starting point so that when I look back ten years from now I will be able to recall exactly how I felt before this next decade of my life.
I am currently half way through my sophomore year of college and am taking this semester off as a leave of absence in order to audition for drama schools abroad. So, in a way my adventure is already well underway as most of my auditions are already over. I am now sending in some DVD auditions and sitting here waiting to see where the universe will put me. I decided to make the choice to change directions as far as my training as an actor goes because of the time I spent this past summer doing a classical acting intensive at ACT. I realized that to become the actor that I want to be, I need to be in a program that is going to push me out of my comfort zone and make me completely exhausted at times. So here I am putting myself on the line and hoping that someone will want to take me under their wing and give me the training I need to be launched into the professional world.
On top of pursuing my career-oriented goals, I am also working on some of the more personal ones. The current habit that I am trying to create in my life is meditating. And I have to say that the Deepak & Oprah 21 Day Meditation Experience has been instrumental for me. And its free so I encourage anyone interested in meditation to try it out. Along with the meditation I have trying to incorporate yoga into my daily life as much as possible. And the third part of pursuing my inner peace goal is that I have been learning about the healing properties of crystals which I am finding absolutely fascinating. But I'm sure you'll hear more of that later on.
As of right now, I am still quite far away from the ultimate goals for the next ten years, but that's the point. Now its time to start experiencing the journey of it all.
